God Has A Bailout Plan For You Deuteronomy 28:1-3 for your consideration the last part of (verse 2) My brothers and sisters, when you obey the will of God He have a Bailout Plan For Obeying His Will. It has been said that: "Timing is everything!" Wherever God bail you out He’s always on time! It's an old cliché that carries the idea that somehow success is tied to everything being in the right place at the right time. And yet, in my own life I've discovered that: there is no perfect or ideal time to do anything except choosing Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and obeying His will. (II Corinthian 6:2) "Behold, now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation." Paul was simply saying that anytime is the right time to make Jesus your choice! But, anything other than that, there is no perfect or ideal time. Either the conditions are right or you ain't ready, or you are ready but the conditions are not right. Have you ever found yourself waiting for the perfect time to make a move and that perfect time never showed up? Well, somebody sitting here today have missed out on some golden opportunities, not because the conditions weren't ripe, but because you weren't ready to obey the Will of God? What if God showed up this morning? And He said, “I’ll make you a deal. And I’m not talking about let’s make a deal. If you obey Me and follow My rules and My regulation, I will bless every area of your life. Your family, your finances, and your future! You’ll never have to worry about these things anymore! I’ll watch over you and provide for you both now and forevermore!” How many of you would see this as a good deal? How many of you would say, “Lord, sign me up for the Christian jubilee write my name on the roll! I want to be ready when Jesus comes. I want to be in on this! I want to be a part of this action. I don’t want to miss out on any of the blessings God have for His people?” And that's the problem we are presented with here today in our text. We don’t really want to obey the will of God. We have a problem obeying the commandment of God. I wish those Ten Commandments could be display in every home, every market place, in every schoolhouse, and in every church house. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Explain)! Thou shalt not take the Lord thy God in vain. Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy. Honor thy father and mother. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house. We just want His blessing and His bail plan for our lives but we don’t to obey His commandment. It reminds me of when my mother would tell me Robert Lewis; I want you to do something and it really didn't make sense. And even though I didn't understand it, I had to do it because Mama told me to do it. I was the child and she was the mama. Maybe that's one of the messages God wants to get across to us today is that: When God instructs us to do something; we ought to do it without delay, debate, discussion or dialogue. Because He is the parent and we are His children. Now by the time we get to Deuteronomy in our text, Moses is 120 years old. He’s about to die. But before he dies, God wants him to make a treaty between Him and the people of Israel. That’s what the book of Deuteronomy is. It’s a peace treaty between God and Israel. In the first three chapters, Moses reviews the history leading up to the treaty. In chapters 4 through 27, he lays down the rules of the treaty. And in our scripture reading today from chapter 28, he discusses the blessings that come from accepting the treaty (an agreement). How many of you here today would see this as a good deal? I’m glad you feel that way. Because this offer is for real! And I’m not talking about “Let’s Make A Deal” either. God’s Bailout Plan is available to everyone in the whole world. And you will discover for yourselves that the blessings and benefits of this plan come by obeying God will. God Bail Out Plan – will save us from our sins. God Bail Out Plan – will give us a right to the tree of life. God Bail Out Plan – will give us a home over in glory. God Bail Out Plan – will make “old things pass away and behold all things will become new.” The Israelites have been traveling through the wilderness for 40 years. And they were constantly worried about enemy attackers. But God is saying that if you carefully obey the word of the Lord, you will be blessed with the protection of my Bail out plan! The truth is that we need all the help we can get. And God is telling us that if we obey the commands of the Lord, we will experience the protective hand of the Lord. And the reason some of us miss out on the "blessings of God" is because we spend more time "arguing with God," than simply "obeying God." You could have already been driving that brand New Car. You could have already had that Degree. Had you obeyed? You could have already been unlocking the door to your new place, had you "obeyed" God when you first heard God voice. (Verse 1) says, “If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.” In other words, if you fully obey the Lord, you will go from being the most hated nation to being the most hailed nation. If you obey the commands of the Lord, you will experience the blessing of the Lord! "If you fully obey all of these commandments of the Lord your God, the laws I am declaring to you today, God will transform you into the greatest nation in the world. These are the blessings that will come upon you: Blessings in the city, Blessings in the field; many children, Ample crops, Large flocks and herds; Blessings of fruit and bread; Blessings when you come in, Blessings when you go out. But I think I ought to tell you, God has a habit of giving instructions that sometime don't seem to make any sense to us when we obey His Will. Yes, you had to put your idea on top of God's idea which turned out to be a bad idea, simply because what God told you to do you did not do it! In fact when we study the Bible, you will discover that God has a habit of telling His people to do things that they don't want to do, because it don’t make sense to them. 1) When Moses and the children of Israel found themselves standing on the banks of the Red Sea, with Pharaoh’s hellhounds in hot pursuit. They had nowhere to run and nowhere to hide and God says to Moses "…stretch out your rod." That didn't make sense! 2) Forty Years later when they came out of the wilderness on their way to the Promised Land, they faced another bump in the road called the Jordan River. Knowing that the waters were too deep to cross, God says to the priests: "...Stick your feet in the water." That didn't make sense! 3) And when they did make it into the Promised Land, the Walls of Jericho prevented their progress, and look what God tells them to do: He says: "…march around the walls one time for six days and on the seventh day, march around it seven times and then shout." I know that didn't make sense! And I think I need to park right there long enough, just to tell you that sometimes; Doing what God tells you to do will get you in trouble! Doing what God tell you to do will sometime get you lock out, locked up, locked in, and locked away. Doing what God say do will sometime cause you to send time in Jail! Have, doing what the Lord say do ever gotten you in trouble with a friend, a family member, on your job or maybe with your significant other, simply because you were doing what God told you to do. Now I know preaching at its best will sometime get you in trouble with people because it doesn’t always make us Happy, sometimes it makes us sad, and sometimes it makes us downright mad. But, God knows He has to sometimes send us a "Strong Word" in order to get us to "Straighten Up!" But, every now-n-then God has to discipline us, before He can delivers us. And when you think about it, all of us in here are "in a jail." Confined in some way or another, because: A Jail is nothing more than a confining situation. Your Jail may be financial. Your Jail might be social, mental or even spiritual. You jail might be confined by some bad habit or handicap. You want to get off of the Unemployment Line, but you just can't find a job. You want to make a meaningful contribution to your family community and church but look like if it ain't one thing, it's another. You are confined in a Jail cell, Box in and Fenced in. But whatever it is I want you to know that, it’s got you "locked up" and "locked in," confined to a situation of which you have no control over. Now, (verses 2&3) says “All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God. You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.” The Israelites never lived in cities before. And so they wondered, “Will we be able to adapt? Will we be able to adjust to something that is completely different than what we’ve experienced so far?” And God’s answer to His bail out plan is that “When you live your life in obedience to the Lord, His blessing is with you wherever you go!” Sometimes we have a hard time believing this. Sometimes you may have to Suffer in order to Succeed. Sometimes you may have to Loose in order to Gain. Sometimes you may have to take the Low Road, in order to get on the High Road. Every now-n-then God has to take us through Poverty and Pain, in order to bring us into Prosperity and Plenty. Well we think, ‘if I go someplace I’ve never been before, or if I try something I’ve never tried before, I won’t do well. God will only bless me if I stay where I am. But God’s trying to say in Deuteronomy, “if you love me and keep my commandments, I’ll take care of you no matter where you are!” My blessing will be on your life no matter where you work and no matter where you live. If you obey the Will of the Lord, you will experience the blessing of the Lord even if you’re confined by Crisis! M.L. King wrote his famous letter spelling out the cause and cure for the civil rights movement from a Jail Cell in Birmingham. The Apostle Paul wrote many of the New Testament books of the Bible from a Jail Cell. John wrote the Book of Revelation while exiled on the Isle called Patmos. Beethoven wrote best work, his famous 5th symphony, while locked in a jail of silence because he couldn't hear. Teddy Roosevelt ran a country and won a second term as President of these United States while confined to a wheel chair. But, I rise to tell you that, God’s got a Bailout Plan for those who Obey His Will! And with God Bailout Plan He has gotten some of his best work from those folk who were confined by Crisis, keep on working for the Lord because He’s got a mighty good Bail out plan! There is nothing too hard for God! So: Work if you are afraid – “For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Work if you are lonely – He’s a mighty good company keeper. Work if you are guilty – Jesus will drop the Charges. Work if you are sick – He’s a Doctor in a sick room. Work if you are a drunken – He’ll take the taste out of your mouth. Work if you are a thief – God will clean the glue off those sticky hands. Work if you are a liar – He’ll make faithful and true witness out of you. Work if you are adultery – He’ll make a husband and a wife faithful to each other. Work if you are a gambler – He’ll make you put down your dices. Work if you are being abused and misuses – He says trust in the lord with all thin heart. Work if you are sinner – from the gutter most to the uttermost. Sometimes God gets the best out of us when we are confined by a Crisis. And all the Word of God is trying to tell us is that: Don't allow your Crisis to Confine You! Don't allow your Dilemma to Dictate your Destiny, Expand your Vision, Explore the Horizon! Because God is able to do wonders with folk who are Confined by a Crisis. And we must never forget that as long as we obey the Will of the Lord, the Lord will bless us. Isn't it amazing how God is able to do more through us when we are less able to do? l believe He does it for two reasons: to keep us humble and that He might get the Glory! Somebody in here knows what I'm talking about because; (the truth is) “Had not the Lord been on your Side." You wouldn't be where you are today. You wouldn't have what you have right now. So, don't go get beside yourself, you need to take the time right now and "Give God the Glory!" Because God has a Bail Out Plan for our lives! God Bail Out Plan – will make you walk by faith not by sight. God Bail Out Plan – will make the dry bones in the valley hear the word of the Lord, and come together. And I know it so. God Bail Out Plan – will make crooked ways straight; Rough places smooth; valley will exalted and Mountain are made low. God Bail Out Plan – will make His yoke easy, His burden lighter. God Bail Out Plan – will make the Prodigal son come back home. God Bail Out Plan – will make wayward daughters fallout with the wicked ways of the world. God Bail Out Plan – will make sinners become converted and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. God Bail Out Plan – will make men shall beat their sword into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. God Bail Out Plan – will make you become a new creature in Christ. God Bail Out Plan – will make you be like a tree planted by the rivers of water. God Bail Out Plan – will make hate is turned into love, sorrow into joy, and night into day. God Bail Out Plan – will make justice runs down like water, and righteous like a mighty stream. God Bail Out Plan – will make the wicked shall cease from troubling and the weary shall be at rest. And I know its so. God Bail Out Plan – will make the tired and worn out realize that, “They that wait upon The Lord shall renew their strength.” God Bail Out Plan – will make you seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. God Bail Out Plan – is when Jesus died on an old ragged cross, buried in a grave and rose right early Sunday morning with all power. God Bail Out Plan – one of these old days I don’t know when and I don’t know where, Gabriel, Gabriel Oh-Oh-Oh Gabriel will blow his trumpet in north, south, east, west. In that great getting up morning, when the Saint go marching in I’ll be in that number! God Bail Out Plan – is JESUS! The Master Teacher! The Master Healer! The Master Builder! The Master Counselor! Well- If you need more grace, Jesus will bail you out! If you want to live a better life, Jesus will bail you out! If you want peace of mind, Jesus will bail you out! If you want your name written on high, Jesus will bail you out! If you want to be justified, sanctified and satisfied, Jesus will bail you out! If you want to over come the world and be a soldier of the cross, Jesus will bail you out!
